Moving to Australia? Let us help make the transition smoother.
At American Express, your membership is recognised around the world. If you’re relocating to Australia, you may be eligible to transfer your existing American Express Card to one issued here – helping you settle in with confidence while retaining your original ‘Member Since’ status.
Information to have on hand
Before you apply for an Australian issued American Express Card, make sure you have the following information handy to ensure a smooth process:
- Existing foreign American Express Card number (found on the back of your Card)
- Australian home address
- Australian phone number
- Australian or International Passport
- Evidence of income, e.g. 3 months of recent payslips, a recent employment contract or a letter from your accountant
We’re required under Australian regulation to collect and verify financial details—even if you’ve held an Amex Card elsewhere.
5 steps to apply for your new Card online
(Note: Corporate/Small Business Cards are not eligible for this application)
